Dear Brethren in Christ Jesus, peace to you from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. I received a request from one of the brothers in Christ here on internet saying Asher kindly write about baptism because I don’t understand it but that was a few a months ago, then I told him that wait if the Holy Spirit wills I will able to write about it and indeed today I bring the Subject of baptism in details and in this I thank the Holy Spirit who has been able to guide me into this subject of Baptism and who has given me much of insight about this subject and I believe many have been lost especially on this subject of Baptism and since many false teachers, false pastors and false prophets have come up this subject of Baptism has been abused and perverted into something meaningless .

Baptism is a very big subject, there is water Baptism, there is Holy Spirit Baptism, there is Baptism of Suffering, and there is also Baptism of death, and there is also Repentance Baptism, from the above following baptisms I will be focusing on Water Baptism and the Holy Spirit Baptism because they are the main subject A born Again Christian should be able to comprehend for their straight walking salvation. So by this we shall look at the following in the subject of Baptism of water and baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  1. What is water baptism?
  2. What is Holy Spirit baptism?
  3. Why would Christian believers need Water Baptism and Holy Spirit baptism?
  4. Is it for everyone to be baptized by the Holy Spirit?
  5. How should we be baptized?
  6. Who should be baptized?
  7. Who should baptize anyway?
  8. Where should we be baptized?
  9. What are the benefits of the correct Baptism?
  10. What are the dangers of false baptism?

Before we look at the above questions regarding the subject of Baptism of water and the baptism by the Holy Spirit, since many have been deceived, I will need to first the formulae that brings us to water baptism and the Holy Spirit baptism.

Here is the formula;

Repentance + Believing in Jesus Christ= Salvation, without completing this formulae you cannot get salvation. Only confession of Jesus Christ will not give you salvation or just believing Jesus Christ without Repentance will not bring salvation to you. And also forsaking your life, or repentance without believing Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour still you cannot get salvation, if you lack either of two you can never receive salvation. The formulae for salvation should be completed using REPENTANCE+BELIEVING JESUS CHRIST=SALVATION.

And that’s where we shall base in regards to this subject of Baptism of water and Holy Spirit Baptism.

Therefore we have repented and have believed in Jesus Christ is the saviour we should be able to receive salvation and what we shall get out of salvation will be more and more but basing on baptism first the formulae will be as follows

Let’s look at above formulae and analyse them, where do we get this formulae someone might ask this question, we are getting this formulae from Jesus Christ himself saying repent and believe the Good news, for the kingdom of God is at hand. Here is the scripture

Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God, and saying “The Time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at Hand. Repent, and Believe in the Gospel.” If you look at the scripture very well Jesus Christ was giving us the formulae for salvation which is Repentance+Believing in Jesus Christ that is the gospel = Salvation. And therefore a believer who has done both sides of Repentance and believing in Jesus Christ is the one who is supposed or qualified to be baptized in water and also Holy Spirit Baptism. Note that when Jesus Christ when he was preaching he said Repent and Believe the gospel; the word And in mathematics means addition and therefore you cannot only believe on Jesus Christ and receive salvation without repentance neither can you just repent or forsake your life and without believing Jesus Christ is the saviour and think you will get salvation. In this case person will be fully qualified to be baptized in water and receive Baptism of the Holy Spirit when he been inducted or has embraced both sides. But with God there is also an exception when one can receive Holy Spirit Baptism before being baptized in water and we shall look at all examples using Holy Scriptures so that you may not be deceived anymore

We shall look at examples of Repentance to received Water baptism

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at Hand. Mathew3;1-2. Note that John did not say believe the Kingdom of God is at Hand but he said that Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand meaning John was preparing people for the salvation and what was the first step to reach salvation and therefore when Jesus Christ came in he completed the formulae with Repent and believe gospel. Mark1; 15

John was to do the baptism of water those who had repented for the remission of sins so that later they would believe in the saviour and receive salvation through Faith in Jesus Christ and this is what happened;

John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of Repentance for the remission of sins. Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. And he Preached, saying “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, who sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. “Indeed I baptize you with water; He will baptize you with The Holy Spirit”. Mark1; 4-5, 7-8.

Note that Jordan where John was baptizing was a River and with running water for the remission of sins. And also from the story of John the Baptist we learn that Water Baptism is done by Man and Holy Spirit is done Jesus Christ is mightier than a Man and also we learn the Man doing Water Baptism should be well standing with God and known by God and he should be filled with the Holy Spirit.

But this is not happening today in Christianity Baptism so this has still kept very many people in sins and there is no change of life in Christians who have come to be Born Again in Christ due to false teaching to this subject of Baptism and other subjects related. This generation has been totally been deceived about baptism and since many don’t read the word of God and to understand it, they have been diverted to the doctrines of Satan and this is how the Baptism subject has been changed , false teachers and false pastors now baptize in the swimming pools really? This is false baptism which has kept very many with problem and I will explain in details about this within the article, many false pastors have decided to make swimming pool within the church to baptism really? This is also false perversion of Baptism and some now have resorted to using basins, cups and dishes really? This is all total lie from the devil from these people because they are no longer on truth they don’t you a Christian to be baptized in the running water or lakes where water is running. The reason for this is that some don’t want baptism in running water in the rivers and lakes because they go underground through those lakes and rivers if they step in those waters since they are connected to underground forces they will definitely taken by the water because the lakes will open up for them to enter and they can’t baptize in those lakes because of that and many are avoiding such kind embarrassments when baptizing. That’s why many have diverted the baptism of water by immersion in running water into swimming pool baptism, well baptism, dish baptism, plate baptism and all this is false and whoever has received such kind of baptism it’s a wastage of time instead you were exchanged to some evil spirits due to majority baptism in one well or swimming pool the sins and the evil spirits of one another are exchanged since water does not move , its stagnant, so you share the sins of others, those were prostitutes and are sexual immoral will leave the spirits in the water that is stagnant and those who did not have anything will also receive from the same water and pick those Spirits of sexual immorality and therefore you will never change instead you will worsen because of Spiritual Mixture. A person who was not a fornicator you start getting aroused by those evil spirits you picking from the baptism of water in swimming pool and you start getting lust everyday of your life.

Water Baptism is visible act with Spiritual significance and it’s a symbol of Christ’s Death, Burial and Resurrection. So our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with Christ’s Death, on the cross, his Burial in the tomb and his resurrection from the dead. This means if we are baptized in water we are supposed to have this effect of change of new Life and we Cannot remain the same in the sinful nature life because all the acts of the sinful nature acts would have died, buried and you resurrect to a new life and waiting to be baptized by the Jesus Christ with Holy Spirit and fulfill all righteousness. But this is not happening in this generation it’s not happening because the Pastors, or teachers baptizing are false and therefore have not Repented, with such kind of mixture you cannot receive that kind effect of Baptism with Water. But instead of getting the effect of death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ you receive what that false Pastors like Sserwadda Joseph, Bujjingo Aloysius, Kiganda, Makumbi, Robert Kayanja, Bugembe Wilson and many others you will start sharing in their fruits of the sinful nature acts . If you are baptized by a wrong person then your baptism will be wrong and you will receive the acts of the person baptizing and therefore if the water baptism is wrong then you can never be baptized by the Lord Jesus Christ with Holy Spirit. That is why many have never changed in their walk of Salvation Jesus Christ, examples can also be Catholics and Protestants they are the same even after their baptism because they use Dishes and Bowels to baptize and even those who use the swimming pools for baptism are worse.

Another definition of the Water Baptism; Water Baptism is an external sign for inner ward change or confirmation that your inner person has been changed. This is the means of Repentance in preparation for the Holy Spirit Baptism. Romans6; 4-6.

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer who has repented in water in the name of the Father, the son and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s Faith in death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and their believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, the resurrection of to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. In any case if there is no changes of life in you with Christ then you just know you were wrongly baptized and the person who baptized you was not standing well Christ Jesus therefore you cannot change.

Regarding the above questions, this is where people have been misled totally by the false teachers and false Pastors of this generation and many people have been affected by this.

As Christian who has Repented and Believed in Jesus Christ you should be baptized and this should be by immersion in the water that is running that could be a river, and a lake and a person should be careful to wait for some seconds for water to come back to its normal to baptize the second person, so each person should be immersed at different interval for the water to move to avoid spirit mixture.

The person baptizing should be filled with the Holy Spirit and sent by God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore he should also have repented before baptizing his followers and must be standing well with Jesus Christ because we have seen examples of Peter being sent to Cornelius in Acts10 to Baptize his whole family, Paul was full of the Holy Spirit and Philip was full of the Holy Spirit when he baptized the Ethiopian Eunuch at the River, Acts Chapter8; 3-37.

John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit since his child hood and was sent by God to prepare the way for salvation and water baptism for the remission of sins through repentance Baptism. If you are baptized in the above formulae and by the person standing well with Jesus Christ and thus being on Truth, then you should be able to experience the death, burial and the Resurrection of new Life in Jesus Christ, the effect will crucify sin and die then you are raised in Spirit of Christ Jesus. And after Baptism there after a while you should expect Holy Spirit Baptism by Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit Baptism can sometimes take long to come because we saw the all apostles had to wait for the Holy Spirit until Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven to prepare. Note that Holy Spirit brings to be filled with the Holy Spirit and there experience of the apostles in the Acts2;5 was that Holy Spirit Baptism but this was not that they had no Holy Spirit, Before that Jesus Christ had given them the Holy Spirit when he met them at their House where they were hiding for the fear of Jews.

Here is the scripture;

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus Christ said to them again, “ Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when he had said this he breathed on them, and said to them Received the Holy Spirit.”John20; 19-22

This means it took a while for the Apostles to be baptized with Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ because it was a prophecy mean by John the Baptist and even one of the Apostles had hanged himself that is Judas so therefore it took Jesus Christ to first arrange for the replacement of the Apostle who in this was Mathias. Acts1; 23-26.
Therefore before the Pentecost this is what was said to the apostles in waiting for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit by the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore Holy Spirit is Spiritual and if you are not living in the Spiritual realms you cannot receive the Holy Spirit baptism.

Here is the scripture in regards to the Holy Spirit baptism in Jerusalem

And being assembled together with them (Jesus Christ), He commanded them not depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which He said and you have heard from Me. For John truly baptized you with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Acts1;4-5 and indeed this was fulfilled after 10 days at the Pentecost day.

So Jesus Christ was doing Holy Spirit Baptism to fill the Apostles because they had received the Holy Spirit but they had not been filled.

When the Day of the Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts2;1-5

Note that they disciples had first went through the first baptism of water of repentance and therefore it took long for them to receive the Holy Spirit Baptism. But in some instances you can receive Holy Spirit baptism immediately after Water Baptism and this is was demonstrated by Jesus Christ after his baptism in Jordan.

It came to pass in those days that Jesus Christ came from Nazareth to Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan (river), And Immediately, coming up from the water, he saw heavens parting and the spirit descending upon him like a dove. And then a Voice came from heaven, You are My Beloved Son, in whom I am well Pleased”. Mark1; 9-11. In this case sometimes you can get Holy Spirit immediately as we have seen how Jesus Christ demonstrated but in most cases you have to wait like the Apostles who had to assemble in Jerusalem to wait for the Holy Spirit baptism and this will take you Patience and to have Faith to be Baptized by Jesus Christ, I cannot tell you the period it might take.

And also there is another version where you can be Baptized by the Holy Spirit before you have received Water Baptism and this can be done depending on Jesus Christ and your calling before God and we shall look at a Story of Cornelius the book of Acts chapter10 and therefore we shall look at the Lessons learnt from the Story of Cornelius.

HERE IS THE STORY please take time and read then understand

At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. 2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. 3 One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”

4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.

The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. 5 Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter. 6 He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.”

7 When the angel who spoke to him had gone, Cornelius called two of his servants and a devout soldier who was one of his attendants. 8 He told them everything that had happened and sent them to Joppa.

Peter’s Vision

9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

17 While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate. 18 They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.

19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three a men are looking for you. 20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”

21 Peter went down and said to the men, “I’m the one you’re looking for. Why have you come?”

22 The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.” 23 Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests.

Peter at Cornelius’s House

The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. 24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. 26 But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”

27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. 29 So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”

30 Cornelius answered: “Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. 32 Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’ 33 So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. 36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues b and praising God.

Then Peter said, 47 “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. ACTS10; 1-48.

Now reading the story Cornelius you can see that Peter while still speaking the Holy Spirit came upon each of those who were gathered at Cornelius and they were filled with the Holy Spirit each began to speak in new tongues and started praising God.

  1. We need the Holy Spirit and God’s revelation to do his work because with our own effort we struggle and cannot manage, the Holy Spirit makes things easier. Anyone using his effort is like the A man riding a local boat without engine. But when we use the Holy Spirit he makes things easier like riding a modern Boat with an engine Boat it just moves faster without struggle. So the Holy Spirit made things easier for Peter and God made things for Cornelius by sending to him AN ANGEL to send some Men to Peter’s House to meet with Peter and for Peter the Holy Spirit revealed to him after seeing a sheet of four footed Animals seeing them as an unclean that it was not meaning the Animals. See Acts10; 3-6 and Acts10; 19-20.

  1. We need to see things the way God see them. In this case Peter had misinterpreted the vision so he had got a message wrongly and God is Spirit so he sees things spiritually and he wants us to have same mind with Help of the Holy Spirit. God uses objects to represent certain things in physical realms but spiritually they are different so we need to be very careful about God’s communication especially with most visions we get about other people. In this case Peter was given a Vision about eating all kinds of animals of the earth, but he mis interpreted it and until the Holy Spirit gave him a revelation later on after being troubled. So had not seen the way God saw things. Read Acts10; 10-20.

  1. We need always to be ready and upright with God so that he may give us a command to do his work because Peter was ready and upright with God, so it was easier for God to reach Peter and send him to do his work, actually about being ready Jesus Christ taught about it, in John7; 6 that our time should be always right and ready.

  1. Good works don’t bring salvation or the case is that Jesus Christ is the only Saviour in all so we NEED to have faith in Christ Jesus and believe in him other than trust our good works and substitute it for saving us. Salvation is only Found in Jesus Christ only in fact Peter had only talked about it in Acts4; 10-12. In this case of Cornelius he had all the good works but still he needed a Saviour who was Jesus Christ because he had not yet got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and Peter was sent to him to complete that Step of Salvation. This confirms that Salvation is only found in Jesus Christ. Read Acts10; 44-48.

  1. To always be devoted to God in great faith, consistence, persistence, endurance, patience, love obedience and Hope. For God will come down to us if we do that without losing Hope and he will send messengers to us to show us his appreciation and also blesses us if we continue. In the story of Cornelius God was moved and delighted at how Cornelius was devoted to him in deeds and he gave him grace and blessed him to receive salvation the greatest of all Gifts. Read Acts10; 1-4. God sent Cornelius an Angel showing honor to him and recognized him and it became memorial before God, that’s why we are still learning from the Cornelius Story and they wrote about it because God accepted it and appreciated what Cornelius was doing so that we could be in the same fate with Cornelius.

  1. God communicates to both sides especially delicate matters that would build his Kingdom and especially when he has given you a revelation about something, he should have revealed to other Party where he is sending to avoid disorder, God always us to be in Spirit and therefore it brings comfort, and peace to the people meeting without doubt especially if that person also been revealed to. The reason why God does that is to confirm to the party he has sent you to confirm to him or her about he told he is serious and needs action to be taken on it. In this case God was confirming to Cornelius that he wanted him to get saved so that he may not waste all his Good works he had done before God. So that’s why Peter came into the Picture. Acts10; 21-26.

  1. Sticking to the Voice of God and obey God’s voice, in this case peter at first had doubted but the Holy Spirit told him to go without doubting anything, so he did the same and went to meet the people that had come from the Man Cornelius and he went with them to do God’s job. Acts10; 19-20.

  1. When we accept Jesus Christ we have to forget about our norms, traditions in Christ Jesus there is no such things, because when Peter had seen a vision for eating the wild animals that were brought on sheet, he refused and said he cannot because according to traditions it was not to but God said what is made clean should not be taken as unclean. Read Acts10; 10-16. And when he had reached at the House of Cornelius he explained the same thing about it. Acts10; 28-29.

  1. When God has sent us to do his work upon his will, he will make things easier for us by confirming the message that he has given to us with signs, wonders through the power of the Holy Spirit, and the other people we have been sent to they will not doubt but will accept the message and respond to it. Acts10; 44-48. In this case Peter’s words were confirmed with the sign of speaking in tongues because the Holy Spirit had come upon them. The lesson is if we send our selves no one will come to defend us or confirm our words because it’s not God’s will.

  1. God does not do things in predicated way or call it in a routine way, God does things differently with amazing power we can’t imagine. In this case the Holy Spirit came upon the family of Cornelius before Peter had finished even speaking and peter was marveled at it because he had not seen it he was used to the former way of working which was Crum work. So the lesson should be we should not predict the way God will work, it could be healing or any other thing God would do. He wants us to be obedient to him and leave the rest to him. He will show us his power.

  1. God always sees what we do either good or bad so we have to keep his righteousness and Holiness he will come to us and visit us all the time. Cornelius was always being observed by God and indeed he communicated to him in a plain way.

  1. Jesus Christ can baptize anyone with the Holy Spirit even before Water Baptism and therefore Jesus Christ does things in way that no one can expect and he does not use the same routine of Working. Acts10; 44-47. In this case the house of Cornelius were baptized with Holy Spirit before Water baptism

Therefore the majority of references to baptism in the gospels refer to John’s baptism, but it is only a shadow of true Christian baptism. The key verse in the gospels is John’s statement,

I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

There are references to baptism in the epistles. This makes the Acts of the Apostles important for discovering the true

A number of passages in the New Testament speak of the meaning of baptism. It is worthwhile looking at these in detail.

Those who repent and believe in Jesus have had their sins forgiven. In baptism their sins are washed away. This means that Christian baptism includes the benefits of John’s baptism, which was a baptism of repentance.

Be baptized and wash your sin away, calling on his name (Acts 22:16).

We are baptized into the death of Jesus. This means that we come to share in the benefits of his death on the cross.

All of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death. We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life (Romans 6:3,4).

Baptism is likened to burial. Burial takes place when a person is dead. When we see them being buried we know that they are truly dead. In the same way baptism is a sign that a person has died with Christ, through faith in him. Not only are his sins forgiven, but he is also dead to sin. As Paul explains:

Our old self was crucified with his so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been freed from sin (Romans 6:6,7).

Baptism is both a dying and a rising with Jesus Christ

In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with a circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and’ raised with him through your faith (Colossians

If we share in the benefits of Jesus death, putting off the sinful nature, we also share in the benefits of his resurrection. Baptism is a sign that we now live in Christ. It is an expression of our new life in him.

We should note that baptism is not the equivalent of the circumcision of the Old Testament. What Paul refers to here is not a circumcision of the flesh, but the circumcision of the heart which is spoken of in Deut 10:16; 30:6 and Jeremiah 4:4. It means having a right attitude to God. A person, who had been circumcised as a child, could still have a wrong attitude to God. A circumcised heart in something that God gives and cannot be accomplished by human hands.

Baptism is being clothed with Christ.

All of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:27).

We were all baptized by one Spirit into one body (1 Corinthians 12:13).

The Bible gives five conditions that must be fulfilled before a person can be baptized.

  1. Repentance is the first step a necessary condition for baptism. Repent and be baptized every one of you (Acts2; 36-38) therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and Brethren, what shall we do?” then Peter said to them Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  1. Only those who have been called by God can be baptized, because these are the only ones who can come to salvation. This promise. is for all whom our Lord will call Only those who are among the elect should be baptized. The sign of election is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

  1. Faith in Christ is essential for baptism. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved (Mark 16:16).Many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptised (Acts 18:8).

  1. Faith comes from hearing the Word of God, so acceptance of the Word of God is essential

Those who accepted his message were baptized (Acts 2:41). Those who are baptized must have heard and accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  1. Only those who are willing to be disciples can be baptized. Baptism is an act of obedience, and a sign of submission. Candidates for baptism must acknowledge the absolute Lordship of Christ over their lives.

Go and make, disciples of all nations baptising them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I ha commanded you (Matthew 28:19,20).

These five conditions must be fulfilled before a person can be baptized. They are the only conditions for baptism.

These effects and benefits are not brought about automatically by baptism itself. They are the result of the faith and the repentance, which must precede baptism.

This water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also- not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a good conscience before Cod. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:21).

Note that it is not baptism that saves us, and washes away the dirt of our sin. It is faith in the work of Jesus Christ, which achieves our salvation. Baptism is an expression of our faith in him, and therefore means that we have a good conscience before God. Many Christians find that baptism can be a key to overcoming

Baptism is a testimony to what God has done in our lives. It is a way of saying that God has taken us out of the world and placed us in his Kingdom. It is a way of declaring to the world that we belong to Christ. For this reason it should be done in a public place, rather than in the confines of a church

God opened the way of salvation through the work of Jesus Christ. He also applies that salvation to our individual lives. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and gives us a spirit of repentance. He gives us faith to believe in Jesus for salvation (Eph 2:8). By the power of the Spirit, we are born again into the Kingdom of God. All this is the work of God. Baptism is the human response in which we publicly acknowledge what God has done. It is an act of obedience resulting from regeneration and testifying to it. Baptism is a human work, which fulfils and completes the work that God has

Baptism is an act of obedience required by God. When Jesus wanted to be baptized, John refused him. However, Jesus insisted, saying, It is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness (Matthew 3:15).

Note that Jesus had not sinned, so he had did not need to repent or have his sins washed away. Yet he chose to fulfill righteousness being baptized. If Jesus needed to be baptized, we must also fulfill God’s righteousness by being baptized.

Baptism is also a testimony to Satan. Paul saw the crossing of the Red Sea as a type of

They all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea (1 Corinthians 10:2).

By crossing the Red Sea the Israelites left the old life of slavery behind. God had already set the people free on the day of the Passover. But legally they were still slaves and Pharaoh was able to harass them. “When they crossed the Red Sea, Pharaoh was destroyed, and his power over them was broken. Baptism can be an important step in getting victory over

When we believe in Jesus, Satan’s power over us is broken. Our baptism is a sign to him that he no longer has a right to our lives. Baptism is really important for getting free from his power.

The most important effect of Christian baptism is the giving of the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the New Testament baptism is usually accompanied by an outpouring, of the Spirit (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 19:5; 10:17, 48). Jesus said,

John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5).

John the Baptist said, I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:8).

The grace that is given in baptism is the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that those who receive his baptism will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Such an outpouring of the Spirit should normally be part of Christian baptism. This is the promise made in Acts 2:38:

Repent and be baptised every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the gift of the

When a person who has repented and believed is baptised, he should also be baptised in the

Jesus baptism is the norm for Christian experience. His baptism is described for us by

Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove (Mark 1:9,10).

As Jesus came out of the water the Holy Spirit came down upon him. This is what he meant by being baptised in the Spirit. Jesus was the first one to experience the gift that both he and John had promised. Every person being baptised should expect to be baptised in the Spirit. As they come out of the water, they should expect the Holy Spirit to come upon them, as it came on Jesus. The gift of the Spirit should normally be received at baptism.

When Paul discovered that the Christians at Ephesus had not received the Holy Spirit, he immediately inquired about their baptism (Acts 19:2,3). The fact that they had not received the gift of the Spirit was a sign that they had not received a complete baptism. This is the experience of many Christians today. Although they are baptised in obedience to Jesus, they only receive a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. They have really only received John’s baptism, because they have not been taught to expect anything more. Jesus promised that his baptism would go beyond that of John. The additional dimension that he promised is the gift of the Spirit. Christians should be taught to expect this gift as a normal part of their baptism.

It does not follow from this that every person who has been baptised has received the gift of the Spirit. When the Spirit came upon Jesus his presence was obvious. The same will be true of every believer who receives the gift.

It is not possible to receive the Spirit without being aware of his presence. He does not sneak in quietly. The gift of tongues is one way he will show himself. He can also manifest himself in gifts of healing or prophecy. If there is no manifestation of the Spirit, then the gift has not been given.

Where there is no outpouring of the Spirit as part of baptism, something is wrong. Laying on of hands is the biblical way of putting things right. This is what happened at Samaria. The apostles came down because something was wrong. The solution was to lay hands on the

They prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. (Acts

Where people have not been baptized in the Spirit at their baptism, they should receive laying on of hands for the gift of the Spirit.

Laying on of hands has become a rite of the church and a common practice in Pentecostal churches. This is wrong, as it makes solution to a problem the normal practice. We should avoid the problem, by ensuring that Christians are filled with the Spirit at baptism making a separate laying on of hands to receive the Spirit

Water Baptism opens the Heavens so that you may hear God’s voice clearly and this was demonstrated by Jesus Christ. Mark1;9-11 and John was able to hear well the Voice and Jesus Christ heard the Voice of God clearly

Water Baptism makes us ready to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and still this was demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ because after he went to preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God. Mark1; 15.

Water Baptism brings perfection in Salvation and this enables us to experience the death, the Burial and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ so we are perfected in his pattern to walk well in Salvation. Romans6; 4-6

In conclusion water Baptism and Holy Spirit baptism has many things they bring in a Christian Lifestyle in the journey of Salvation and if God wishes I will be able to come up with the Subject of knowing the person filled with the Holy Spirit and how you can know the dangers you can experience when you are baptized by False Pastor and in a wrong way.
