THE PROPHETIC-INTERCESSION MINISTRY…

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction. Proverbs29; 18

The ministry of prophetic intercession only works on the revelation of God and the wisdom of God and without the two you cannot manage intercession. Prophetic-intercession is one of the hidden ministries that people tend to under look and they don’t even focus on it like the other ministries e.g.evangelists, apostles, pastors over shadow it and therefore people have taken it for granted. But in reality the intercession ministry is the biggest in all ministries, surprisingly it supports all the ministries in the church, without prophets and intercessors we cannot know where we are going, and what to do next , most Christians tend to be caught in the events of the world and they don’t know what is happening in the spiritual realms and they are moving in a bus without knowing the next stage, but God has called intercessors and the prophets to reveal his plans for the church and also the attacks of the enemy so that the church may be stand by to resist the attacks of the devil, where there are no prophets and intercessors we cannot get any revelation because by DNA, these two ministries are there to expose sin and the plans for the devil.

The Prophetic anointing is the tank of fuel that fuels intercession and purity, therefore intercessors cannot function without the prophetic anointing, meaning the intercession ministry will only be successful under prophetic ministry, it will support their revelation and their gifts will be enabled to flow in the ministry.

In the modern church intercession has not been taken seriously and this has constrained the work of God, and that’s why most churches have been defiled and been taken over by the devil because there is no revelation and there is no holiness and purity in the church, so the pastors have no idea on what’s happening in the spiritual dimensions, if the churches were embracing the prophets and intercessors they would resist all attacks of the devil before they happen, God has already revealed to them, unfortunately this has not been effective in the modern church due to mixture of anointing that is not supposed to be leading the church, so the prophets and intercessors are living in isolation and they don’t know what to do and some are not aware of what to do, and those who have cultivated their gifts still they are despising their ministry for being not recognized by the church. If all intercessors were standing well in their places, we would not see any disasters happening in the church or in a nation because they would have resisted them through revelation from the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the master –teacher of the Prophets and intercessors in the wilderness and they take long to realize their peak of their ministry, most of the times they cannot speak for God unless if they have been purged, trained, bruised, scourged and put in the mill to work on them for the perfection of the ministry, those who have known their ministries they do not know what to do and they are stuck, and lack knowledge about the visions, revelations that God is revealing to them and they end up bringing confusion in the church and the devil penetrates in the church through mis-guided intercessors.

Like any other ministries, prophetic- intercessors are called to work for the kingdom of God on behalf of a church, a nation and entire world as well. The intercessors differ so much in their callings and some are called in full-time ministry and some are called to part-time ministry, so their calling is different and unique but all reflect the character of God, no prophetic-intercessors can be the same but all differ in their calling. In this case most prophets are intercessors and some intercessors can be prophets, apostles and in other ministries as well.

The intercessors are called to be peace-makers; in this case intercession ministry brings reconciliation between God-Man and Man-Man. The intercessors are like the CID officers in the church, they are supposed to serve mostly in quietness, they get information about the enemy, and also God reveals to them what he wants to do for the church, and they are supposed to keep the information secretly and they are supposed to take the information to the higher authority like the way the CID officers do. Failure to do so they will bring confusion in the church upon misapprehension of the message. Like the CID when they get information about the enemy, they don’t go and confront the enemy because they might not know what the enemy is planning to do, so what they do is to gather all sufficient information to their bosses in authority and for them they know what to do. This applies to sensitive message God has revealed to the intercessors. In this modern era intercessors have not understood their work and this hindered the work of God, because God has many works to do but he has on one he can reveal his plans to be executed.

Intercessors are never supposed to move away from the presence of God, in fact the prophets and the intercessors require much to be in the presence of God than any other ministries (understanding prophetic ministry). They will need to be Holy at all times because some revelations will pass them if they are caught by events of the world. Likewise like the prophets, intercessors should be obsessed with the kingdom of God.

Merged Roles

The role of prophet and intercessor sometimes merges in one person. When this happens, the person should be very careful to be clear about what they are doing. When they receive a revelation about the future, they should seek guidance from God about whether is for the prayer closet or the prophetic platform. They should also sort out if it is something God wants to do or a plan of the enemy that he wants to foil. (Understanding your Gift). Intercessors are called to be life savers and they are supposed to clothe others, in most cases these intercessors know most of God’s secrets and are honored by the Lord Jesus Christ and by God the Father, without the Holy Spirit these ministries cannot function, they have been called to be trusted with treasures of the Kingdom. In heaven the intercession is the biggest and it has many ministries that merge and they have the greatest work to do (Surprised by the Call of God)

Clear Voice

The absence of a prophetic voice in a city creates uncertainty about the cause of traumatic events and whether they have any spiritual significance. Most of the commentary on the events usually comes from pastors whose focus is on providing pastoral care to people who had lost homes or family members. Their main goal is to put guilt and guidance out of scope, so they leave God’s purposes out of the situation. Unfortunately, many other Christians find this explanation inadequate and are uncertain about how they should respond to these events. They see Jesus applying spiritual significance to physical disasters (Luke 13:1-5) and want the same for their time.

Without a clear trumpet call, the people go and look for own answers. They get muddled and grab what they can. The dreams and voices that circulate from the fringes of the church where people have gone for insight, but they produced only fear and confusion.

Revelations that God has given to intercessors often circulate as prophecies about the future. This is creates confusion, because the revelations contain no guidance to Christians about how to respond. There is no call to repentance for the people of the world or condition that must be met to avert the disaster. This is not surprising, because that was not their purpose.

WHAT IS INTERCESSION?

Intercession means, intervening, engagement, involvement, participation, mediation, petition, prayer and rescue, the work of intercessors is quiet huge than expected, not all praying people can be intercessors, intercession requires much more work to do its more than praying but its about rescuing lives of other ministries, Christians and the nation by standing in the gap to resist the foiling of the devil. The work of intercessors will need much time to be in the presence of God to reveal to them what he wants to do. Without the revelation to intercessors from God, they have no work and therefore they can pray like any other individuals. Their work is based on rescue, saving lives and this means that intercession is about seeking Mercy not Judgment. (How intercessors behave).

Example can be seen in the scriptures;

Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

Isaiah 63:5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

Psalms 106:23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

THE CHARACTER OF AN INTERCESSOR

An intercessor is a person who by calling or by nature chooses to be a mediator on behalf of those who cannot intervene for themselves. Intercessors make requests, urge, plead, beg, counsel, discuss, risk, sacrifice, and make war on issues relating to the weaker ones, and thus they have an impact on the final outcomes for those they serve.

There is a difference between a person who is called an intercessor and a person who prays. Any person can pray, but not all praying people are intercessors. The opposite is true also – an intercessor may live his entire life and live to make only one great act of intercession. The differences of an intercessor are subtle – hidden in the life and heart behind the prayer. There are many examples of intercessors in the Bible, and they walked with the favor to impact and change God’s heart. (How to become an intercessor)

PURPOSE OF INTERCESSION

The purpose of intercession is to be a mediator and build a wall for those whose lives are being plundered and wasted because of sin. The intercessors like I said they are supposed to pray, mediate, participate, involve, rescue and are life savers on behalf of those who have been wasted in sin, seeking mercy from God and the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may be saved. Intercessors have no side, they are to pray for every one would bring them prayer requests, they are like this City vehicles that carry rubbish and are to remove every dirt until all people are cleansed, some intercessors called to dress others, some intercessors are called wash clothes for others and some intercessors are called to be in the Kitchen, some intercessors are called to washes utensils in the kitchen so most of their work is to clean and resist the attacks of the devil. So intercession will not be for faint hearted, it will need Christians who can endure and by their DNA the Lord Jesus Christ has called them to their specific because he knows the hearts of the intercessors (How Intercessors relate).

AUTHORITY OF THE INTERCESSORS;

The jurisdiction of intercession is connected with favor and authority and both are only when in relationship and friendship with the Lord.  It is a very high honor to be considered the friend of God.  Those who lay down their lives for Him and obey His Word are His friends.  It is a very intimate honor to come before the Father and be heard.  Our lives, faith and hearts can indeed melt His heart and make a difference.  It is incredibly amazing that the Lord God chooses to make Himself – His heart vulnerable to His friends.

John 15:13-16 Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. 15 From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. In the above scriptures the Lord was reminding us how he did the death intercession in order for us to have life, so intercession is about life saving.

Intercessory authority is delegated by the Lord to those whom He calls and chooses as intercessors. These have been tested and prepared and given assignments within His kingdom.  Authority is learned and authority is earned.  This authority is delegated by the Father to be His ambassadors on earth.

There fore authority is given or delegated by the person in the higher position since the kingdom of God is under influence of Authority and Power. Without recognizing authority and power, nothing can be done. So without authority of God and his power nothing can be done, and you struggle. And this authority is given as intercessors continue in submission, devotion and be patient to be in the presence of God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is the one to direct intercession because he knows better the will of God and the plans of the enemy. So no intercessors should call himself and herself or take authority upon himself to do intercessory because he might not know what God wants to accomplish on earth, it needs to be confirmed the Holy Spirit, and if you call yourself you will not get any blessing from God, even when you intercede on some issues you might block the work of God he has purposed to be fulfilled due to much disobedience, that’s why the intercessors should be directed by the Holy Spirit in order to be successful ministers of the Lord.

In most case the intercessors are supposed to work with the pastors in the authority of the church since they have delegated the work by the Lord Jesus Christ, intercessors are in this supposed to be careful in handling some revelations by imploring the authority from the Pastors of the church with the authority in case the revelation is about the church, so intercessors are to be big books to record and take note every kind of revelations about the church that needs the authority of the Pastors in the church, In order to avoid confusion in the church. Besides the devil understands the authority of the administration of the church, so if the intercessors take upon themselves and execute the work that was supposed to be executed by the Pastors, they would bring the enemy directly in the church to operate because the work would not be effective since there was no delegation, authority given to them to do so. (Surprised by the Voice of the Holy Spirit)

The authority of the intercessor will increase or decrease depending on whether the person is in total submission and proper knowing of the relationship with the one who gave him authority. If intercessors continue to operate in submission and obedience in the presence of God by executing the job the Holy Spirit has assigned them, they will gain more authority, power and influence on God. So intercessors are not supposed to be worried about the things of the world, they should be obsessed with Kingdom of God, and they are well known to be friends of God in the kingdom of Heaven throught the scriptures.

The intercessors have keys for the Kingdom of God and they have authority to open and close the lives of others, what they allow in their lives, it is also allowed in the lives of others. Likewise what they close in their lives, it is also closed in the lives of others. They have authority to open and close the gate in the lives of people. (The power of an intercessor) they are really indeed at risk if they let bad motives in their lives, then it will affect the lives of other Christians they submit to and to those whom has entrusted them to pray for or intercede. The life of an intercessor should walk blameless because of their authority in granting other lives. Where the intercessors stop interceding is where God stops working, therefore they have power to make God do more if they don’t stop their work. God should bless them.

Authority, submission, power go together, remove one all they remain retarded, without authority power is useless, and without submission authority is useless. Intercessors have to work in a relationship with the Holy Spirit in order to have power over things they have been given to intercede for.

We are going to see an example;

Abraham intercession for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah demonstrates the power and the authority of an intercessor, Abraham was a prophetic-intercessor. And he was a friend of God, in most cases the prophetic-intercessors are friends of God Almighty, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit (the Goodness of the Ministry).

16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. 17 Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.[c] 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

20 Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.[d] 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[e] the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”

“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”

He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.” 32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”

He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”

33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home. Genesis18; 16-33.

If you actually at the scriptures Abraham had power to make God to save Sodom because of his intercessory power, Abraham stopped interceding on 10 number of Men in the city of Sodom, he was a life saving intercessor, Abraham did not seek Judgment but rather Mercy from the Lord, only that he stopped on 10 number of people who were righteous and he stopped there and God also continued to do his work, this shows where intercessors stop in intercession , its where God would also stop, this calls for intercessors to intercede without ceasing and this would bring more Mercy of God in a given Area. (The Power of an intercessor). Intercessors prefer life than death in this case they reflect God’s character who tries every way to save his people, only that people disappoint they prefer death than life.

WORKING OF INTERCESSORS ;

The intercessors like I said they are supposed to work full-time BUT some can be part time and we can take example

Altogether, those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds numbered 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. The gatekeepers had been assigned to their positions of trust by David and Samuel the seer. 23 They and their descendants were in charge of guarding the gates of the house of the Lord—the house called the tent of meeting. 24 The gatekeepers were on the four sides: east, west, north and south. 25 Their fellow Levites in their villages had to come from time to time and share their duties for seven-day periods. 26 But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God. 27 They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning. 1 Chronicles; 9; 22-27.

At the beginning of this article I had hinted on the hidden ministry of the intercessors and I said that Prophetic anointing is the Tank that fuels intercession and purity, therefore from the scriptures we see David who was a prophet and Samuel the prophet who were guiding the intercessors and assigned them work to do. If you look closely at the scriptures, it points out gatekeepers, and in intercession, gate keepers are intercessors also by type, they chose full-time gate keepers who were to guard the East, West, South, and North respectively and these were in charge of opening and opening the house of God every morning, so they were entrusted with treasures of God to keep watch, intercessors are always entrusted with the secrets of the kingdom and they are supposed to keep watch by being discreet, so some intercessors can be fulltime workers and others be part time intercessors depending on their call and personality, as you can see that some were told to go and help them in the work every week in 7 days. This means that intercessors can support intercessors in their work, and the Holy Spirit knows how he can assign them the authority of intercessory. According to the scripture above intercessors are born intercessors according to genes and it moves in genes, and intercessors can produce intercessors in their families if they successfully do well the work of God.

According to the working of God, some people can be given the gift of intercession depending on their callings, for example Pastors will be given the gift of intercession to intercede on behalf of the flock they are tendering, and also we have apostles being intercessors to intercede for the work they have been assigned by the Holy Spirit, in most case intercession ministry has much of prophetic-intercessors and intercessors working independently. The anointing of the prophets supports so much intercession ministry and they need to relate more with the prophets, since they tend to see more than other ministries.

CHARACTERISTICS OF INTERCESSORS;

Humility; the intercessors should be the most humble Christians because without humility you can hardly hear the voice of God. Genesis18; 27, demonstrates Abraham calling himself being just dust and nothing and he was who is he to talk to God directly, and he demonstrated humbleness in the presence of God. But now days things are different most intercessors have picked the spirit of pride in them and this spirit has been allowed in the church through intercessors since what they allow in their lives affects the congregation. Therefore intercessors should be very careful in ministering by being humble even though he reveals more things to them. Humility is the fear of the Lord;  its wages are riches and honor and life. Proverbs22; 4, this shows if intercessors are humble they demonstrate the holy fear of God in them. And they will attain more riches and honor from the Lord. (Being careful in the presence of God)

Obedience, intercessors must be obedient servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. In this case they take an example of Jesus Christ who came as an intercessor between life and death , for he forsook his glory in heaven and he learnt obedience in his suffering, he made an intercession by bearing our transgression to do God’s will. For he made death intercession for us to get life and he knew about it and therefore he obeyed his Father to bring to life to those who would believe in his name and in him.

He was assigned a grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,     and though the Lord makes[c] his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days,     and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. 11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e]; by his knowledge[f] my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.  Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g] and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors , For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah53; 9-12.

Meaning the intercessors should never be unbending; they should have a character that flexible to do God’s work he has assigned them to save the lives of others.

Risk and sacrifice, Moses was willing to be blotted out of God’s book. (Ex 32:30-32). Intercessors are called to take risk and sacrifice on behalf of others and their joy will be seen the lives of others being prospering and their happiness, intercessors should never intervene in the lives of those whom they have stood in the gap and have prospered to bother them, intercessors reward is with the Lord Jesus Christ. So intercessors should be able to risk their lives by saving the lives others through intercessions; Isaiah53; 12, Esther4; 16, Esther risked her life to go in the presence of the King when the Jews were in jeopardy.

Preparation, and Long suffering /patience. Like wise the intercessors like the prophets are trained by the Lord Jesus Christ through his Spirit, they are taken to be in the wilderness to be prepared for their ministry in order to be successful, this wilderness is the training ground of suffering, this suffering may come to them before even they realize their ministry, so God’s preparation for the intercessors is before hand. Godly suffering is the biggest part of the ministry of intercession, and the reason for this is that to learn how to be kind, how to be patient and how to feel the pain of others. So long suffering in the ministry of intercession prepares them and gets them ready for the forth coming work and action. It cultivates them to become good Christians with no side, since their ministry requires interceding for anyone plundered. Steel sharpens steel and iron sharpens iron. The best example is Ezekiel who suffered 390 days and demonstrated how they would come and siege Jerusalem, Ezekiel went into that intercession and he was told be there until the days were finished, this means intercessors have to go through preparation God has set before hand without making any short cut and God always has all the equipments needed for the preparation and they therefore they should be careful not to mis-use the time and all the provisions God has made them available to make them go through the suffering and pass wilderness training. Ezekiel was given all what needed to accomplish the 390 days. If you miss any day during the times of preparation, that day will be added and it will prolong the preparation, the best thing is to make sure you take time and finish all.

“Now, son of man, take a block of clay, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it. 2 Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it. 3 Then take an iron pan, place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign to the people of Israel.

4 “Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the people of Israel upon yourself.[a] You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. 5 I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the people of Israel.

6 “After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the people of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year. 7 Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her. 8 I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.

9 “Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the 390 days you lie on your side. Ezekiel4; 1-9, 1stpeter2; 19-25, 2 timothy2; 10-13.

Rejection, like the prophets, the intercessors have a spirit of rejection on them, therefore they should not be worried about that, they will not loved by the people but they will have to do the opposite to love those who do not love them and they should interject or overcome the spirit of rejection by their love for others. Example is Moses was rejected by the Israelites after the time he took with them and interceded for them. They rejected him to choose another leader to go back to Egypt. Numbers14; 1-5. Jesus Christ was also rejected by the people that he was interceding, the Jews rejected him and even up to now people have rejected Jesus Christ given the death on cross. It has been under looked by the people. Isaiah53; 3-4 describes well, how Jesus Christ not esteemed, so intercessors should not worry about that. ( surprised by the voice of God Almighty)

Thanks giving, the intercessors should be filled with heart of thanks giving than any other ministry since God reveals his plans to them, if they do happen, they should thank him fervently without ceasing and what he does in other people’s lives they thank him too.( The heart of Thanks). Luke2; 36-38. Ana the prophetess was successful in the ministry of intercession due to her thanksgiving; it should be seen most in their ministry.

Intercessors should be life time ministers and should never leave their work of intercession until God has given them, resting period. Luke2; 36-38. Ana demonstrates the better work of intercessors, she interceded for the rest of her life time, and she never rested until the savior was born and this took patience and to be in God’s presence for her life time course even when she lost her husband, she continued her work without being taken by the events of the world. (Being a successful intercessor).

The intercessors are to be the most loving, and compassionate Christians or ministers of the Lord, and this would enable them to work without ceasing, their ability is seen in being compassionate and loving people, always avoiding allowing negativity in their lives through disputes to be successful. John15; 13, 1peter3; 8-14, proverbs10; 12. ( how to become a better intercessor)

The intercessors should never be selfish in their lives and in their ministry, this means they should be generous in what ever they and God will bless them and receive their reward, if they become selfish they will bring a bad spirit in the lives of others due to their domain authority.

Burden bearers; intercessors are burden bearers, they are there to carry the burdens of those who cannot intervene for themselves and this will require much sacrifice. Moses was able to carry the burden of Israel without getting tired and this made Moses one of the most successful prophetic-intercessors in the history of Israel. He was always wiling to go in the presence of God even when God was angry against the Israelites. He never got tired to intercede for their sins to be forgiven. And this can be seen in Exodus32;

Discreet, intercessors are supposed to take caution especially in handling revelation and their revelation should be guarded carefully, they should handle the visions and revelations carefully in order to avoid confusion, they are supposed to be secretive since they are called to be the CIDs of the church in the Kingdom of God. But most intercessors do not know what to do when they get revelation, therefore they end up messing up by sharing with other Christians who are still young and what the devil does is to create confusion in the church and divide it. They should take warning, intercessors should share their revelations with Head pastors of the church because they might not discern whether the revelation needs to be worked now or if it’s a prophecy. So they will need guidance on this. Proverbs11; 13, Mathew7; 6. They should be careful not throw what is sacred to the pigs.

Peace with God, intercessors should be at peace with God at all times to avoid disappointment of revelation by the devil, because if they don’t repent the devil may give them misleading revelation and this could throw the church in pits and that’s why most churches have been overthrown by the devil due to lack of mature intercessors in the church. There fore intercessors should never break their relationship with God to avoid embarrassment, their attitude be bent at all times, God was willing to work with Jeremiah if he could have repentant attitude. Jeremiah15;19-20

Relating and understanding the timing of God, the intercessors should not be ignorant on how they should relate revelations with the events of the world that are happening and this calls for their patience in the presence of God, so that nothing could by pass them. Daniel was a prophetic-intercessors but he was able to relate the period according to the word of God which came through Jeremiah and he was saw the event was taking long and he went into intercession for the people who had gone into captivity during days of Nebuchadnezzar and after understanding the events, he was able to get the answer, Daniel9; 2-4, Daniel10; 1-3. Intercessors should always get track the promises of God and the voice of the Holy Spirit and continue praying for them until they happen. Lest they will be caught in the events of the world too.

Being careful in speaking negativity, due to submission of the church Christians their words could affect the congregation and make other fall from salvation especially if they talked about some one young in spirit, their words will spread like cancer. And Jesus Christ warned about this in Mathew12; 36-37. Proverbs10; 19, due to their authority by calling their words will affect other Christians and this will hinder the work of God in edification. ( learning quietness in the ministry)

Counselors; intercessors can be very good counselors since they are in a better position to see what is happening in the lives of others, they are to deliver their message in Love without hurting the other party. Where there many counselors there is victory. Proverbs11; 14.

Faithful, the intercessors are supposed to be good treasurers of the Lord, and they are supposed to be faithful to the work of the Lord, they should operate in a zone of forgiveness and not lies, where they make mistakes they should repent and ask forgiveness and where they don’t work they should still ask God to forgive them, instead of keeping quiet, that does not reflect faithfulness of a worker. Their work requires high standard of keeping secrets due to the messages that flow to them from the Holy Spirit. If they are faithful, the Lord will be faithful to them. Mathew25;21

To boldly defend; each of the above role models defended with boldness. This does not necessarily mean they had naturally bold personalities. Watch a mother or father bird when a threat comes too close to their nest! God has placed within His creation an instinct to defend the young. An intercessor’s heart comes to the surface when they perceive a threat. Suddenly the heart of a pussy cat turns into the roar of a lion. (Heb 4:16)

To Volunteer; One of the marks of an intercessor is a willingness to do something. A volunteer is someone who is not necessarily asked; rather he/she steps forward in order to accomplish something. Jesus said there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:13)

TYPES OF INTERCESSORS;

Intercessors vary in their calls and they are different types of intercessors according to their DNA from the Lord Jesus Christ, like I said before each intercessor should differ from the other both of them or all of them should reflect God’s character.

HINGE INTERCESSORS

Certain intercessors are like hinges in doors.  Like Esther, Abigail, Joseph, etc these hinge intercessors have the power to pray a word, speak a word, make a request, or deposit a word that changes history.  [ Es 5:7; 1 Sam 25:33; Gen 41:46 ] Then based on that word from the hinge person, another who is at a crossroad and making a decision, chooses to open or close a door that brings about great change.

These hinge people, having been perfectly prepared through a set of events, are then supernaturally put into a position to either open or close a door of history.  They may wait their whole lives to say just one phrase to the right person, who then makes a decision that changes history.  Most of their intercessory authority comes through having yielded to God the preparation of their character.

FORERUNNER INTERCESSORS

There are some intercessors that are determined, brave-hearted forerunners.  David had this spirit.  [ 2 Sam 24:17; 1 Sam 30:8 ] Like pioneers, they pave the way by breaking ground and then others can occupy what they have broken through.  Most of their intercessory authority comes through the harvest of overcoming, sacrifice and death to self.

LIVING SIGNS INTERCESSORS

There are some intercessors that are signs planted in the earth.  They walk their lives out as living parables.  Their lives state in one way or another Word of the Lord.  Most of their authority in intercession comes through submission/ obedience in areas that goes against the religious status quo.  This is like Hosea marrying the harlot (Hosea1:2-3) and Isaiah walking around naked and barefoot.  Isaiah20:1-3

SPIRIT OF ELIJAH INTERCESSORS

Over the past 3 decades the Lord has been raising up Elijah intercessors regarding Mal 4:6.  This assignment is building a bridge between 3+ generations, to enable all to cross over safely into the inheritance of possessing the promises of the Bible. Most of their authority is through the travail of staying behind to wait for their children, so they are not left behind.

Malachi 4:6 and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

James 5:16-18 confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

PRIEST INTERCESSORS

There are some intercessors that have been given their authority by their spiritual identity / DNA in the Lord.  This is like Jesus, He was God’s Son.  His authority came merely on the basis that He was God’s Son.  There are some in the earth that have the calling to be intercessory priests.  These might be after the order of Melchizedek whose authority in intercession comes through walking in righteous paths (the right way) and not straying.  [Ge 14:18; Ps 110:4; Heb 5:6,10; Heb 6:20; Heb 7:1,10-11,15,17,21; 1 Peter 2:5]

DELIVERER INTERCESSORS/Burden bearers

These kind of intercessors are like Moses and Elijah who out of obedience, are sent to challenge the rulers and powers over nations.  [ Ex 7:12, 8:18; 1Kings 18:36-39 ] Exodus32 The gods over their nations were being challenged, but Moses and Elijah did not do this by directly addressing principalities.  Deliverers do this by prayer, decree and obedience to the Lord’s command.  They can only do what God tells them to do in how they deliver His people.  Most of their authority comes in being willing to stand in the Word of God and speak what He says to speak in the way He says to speak it. They are filled with holy boldness and don’t flinch in the face of the demonic world.  They have learned not to be presumptuous and not act in their own agendas, else they get clobbered.  Smile.

Obadiah 1:21 and saviors {3467} shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

DOOR KEEPER INTERCESSORS

There are some intercessors who are door keepers.  They have been given the authority to open and close doors on behalf of others.  They are like kings and judges who rule the earth with a rod of iron.  Most of their intercessory authority is walked out through judiciary decisions/ choices between the holy and the profane in how they live their daily lives.  Their high level of obedience in letting go of the world gives them great authority in their prayers to open and close doors for others.

They are like bodyguards who stand at a door.  I like to call them Holy Ghost bouncers.  What they open in their own lives is opened for others.  What they shut in their own lives is shut for others.  Another way of looking at a door keeper’s authority is saying that the devil has to go through those who stand on the front line, before he can get to those who are protected.

Isa 22:22-23 NKJV

The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open. 23 I will fasten him as a peg in a secure place, And he will become a glorious throne to his father’s house.

Rev 3:7-10 NKJV

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Examples of intercessors and their revelations may differ from those of the prophets

Intercessors pray:

They release the Holy Spirit and the angels to do the Fathers will on earth.

They stand together to resist the attacks of the enemy on behalf of a church, a city or a nation.

Prophets speak:

They explain God’s purpose for churches, cities and nations to his people.

Some warn God’s people of danger and explain how they should respond to it.

A few speak to the world and warn of judgment and describe how it can be averted (Jonah and Nineveh).

Intercessors and Prophets will sometimes receive a revelation of coming disasters, but the purpose will be different.

Revelation to Prophets

Prophets will sometimes receive a revelation of a future disaster.

They are called to speak to God’s people and explain how God wants them to respond during the crisis. Following this guidance will lead to blessing.

In some situations, they might need to flee to survive.

In other situations, God will want them to stand their ground and suffer in the face of evil.

A few prophets will be called to speak to a city or nation and warn of a danger that is coming as a consequence of sin. When they do this, they should also call the city or nation to repentance. They should also give guidance to God’s people about how they should respond.

The revelations received by prophets will mostly be conditional. If the city or nation responds, appropriately, the event will be held back. The conditions for this should be clearly specified.

Prophets should not be speaking out words about the future, just to show that God is clever. He does not play that game.

Prophets speak with purpose. Without guidance, conditions or a challenge, a prophet is just a clanging gong.

When prophets receive a revelation of trouble in the future, they should not speak immediately, but test the word with other people they trust.

The prophet should also pray about when, how and to whom the word should be spoken. They should pray about what God wants his people to do and how he wants the city or nation to respond. Without these things, the prophetic word is not complete.

God shows prophets things that will happen and explains what the people should do.

For prophets, explaining what people must do is as important as warning of what will happen.

Revelation to Intercessors

God often reveals the plans of the enemy to intercessors, so they can stand against them in the Spirit and prevent the evil from occurring.

God is showing them something that will not happen, if they are doing their job.

These revelations can be scary, so intercession is not for the fainthearted.

Intercessors should guard their revelations carefully and not hand them around casually (Matt 7:6).

Intercessors should share and test their revelations with other intercessors who are strong enough to handle the revelation.

When these revelations are circulated widely among Christians, they create confusion within the church. Even if the intercessors do their job and prevent the event from taking place, the enemy uses it for evil by inspiring fear.

A revelation given to inspire intercession has several characteristics that can be confusing to other Christians.

They usually do not take place, so Christians assume the revelation was wrong, without understanding that it was not fulfilled, because the intercessors did their job.

They are sometimes symbolic. Ezekiel saw the sun, moon and stars going dark. This was not fulfilled literally, but was a description of Egypt’s Pharaohs being defeated by the Emperor of Babylon (Ezekiel 32:7). Intercessors need to be skilled in interpreting these symbolic messages.

Another example for intercession is they should not give up whether the situation is bad or good, if God communicated to them about something Good happening then they should not stop interceding until they see it happening and therefore intercession calls for a lifetime calling and in this we shall see an example of Prophetess Anna and was an intercessor for all of her life and therefore no matter situation intercessors are supposed to endure and keep in the ministry it needs to be in the presence of God and to be guided by the Holy Spirit on what to do. Anna was an intercessor from her child hood and she took on the challenge of intercession and in this case she was interceding for the coming of Messiah until it would occur and effect, since she was revealed by God that a messiah would come from Judah and through the prophets they had spoken about it, but Anna interceded until the messiah was brought forth and this took much time about 50 years between her call and ministry therefore it needs patience, humility, submission to God in the ministry of intercession. It’s not for faint hearted people but for hard people who can endure situations imagine what Anna what she could have gone through her life and but she did not give up in her ministry

Here is the scripture in regards to Anna Ministry of Intercession.

Now there was one, Anna a prophetess the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, she was of a great age, and had lived with her husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman was a widow of about eighty four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served with God with fasting and prayers night and day. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those looked for redemption in Jerusalem. Luke2; 36-38

A lesson here would be Anna lost her husband but she did not give her ministry of intercession (understanding the intercession ministry). She remained a widow until she was 84years even more.

Another lesson is that intercession ministry needs to be more presence of God than any other ministry apart from the prophetic ministry. Anna used to go the temple to pray and fasted day and night until the Lord and savior was brought forth and this means she was successful in the ministry. (Growing in the intercession ministry)

The ministry of intercession needs much devotion to God and thanks giving is part of the ministry when God does the things that he had revealed to intercessors to pray about not to happen. (Becoming an intercessor)

Intercessors are often called to pray against evil attacks that God does not want to happen. In this situation, the revelation they receive, will not include a call to repentance, or specify conditions that must be met to prevent its fulfillment, as that is not the purpose it was given.

God does not give guidance about how to live through the evil events he reveals to intercessors, because he does not intend them to happen. When these revelations get into the hands of other Christians, they get confused, because they do not know what to do. The revelation is there with nothing around it.

Most of the revelations received by intercessors will be things that God’s wants to do. They will happen if the intercessors pray seriously. Intercessors will need to be skilled in discerning between things that God wants to accomplish and the plans of the enemy that he wants to thwarted.

IMPORTANCE OF INTERCESSION OR THE POWER OF INTERCESSION/ BENEFITS OF INTERCESSION

Intercession brings Grace to forgiveness from God to his people and examples can be taken from; Moses and the children of Israel. Numbers14; 10-20

Jesus Christ and the world; Colossins2; 13-15,

Jonah and Nineveh. Jonah3; 4-10

Reconciliation, the power of intercession brings forth peace between God and Man and Man-Man and this can be seen from the death intercession our Lord Jesus Christ took

Ephesians2;14-16( Man-Man reconciliation in this case Jews and the gentiles, the gap was broken thus making peace out of the two to make one man.)

Ephesians2; 18-22(God to Man), 2 Corinthians5; 18-19.

Change of History, intercessors change history and this would bring goodness upon God’s people there by bringing joy and happiness especially if the people of God had been plundered or been in captivity, the intercession made by our Lord Jesus Christ changed history of the world by coming from death to eternal life. And during the days of Esther she made an intercession for the Jews in the presence of the King which changed their lives from being slaves and they became masters, during the days of King Xeres. Esther7; 1-10, Esther8; 1-17.

The intercessors release the power of the Holy Spirit and Angels of God to work on earth through God’s will.

The intercessors should focus on doing their job by standing in prayer against the plans of the enemy that God has revealed to them. If the intercessors and are fulfilling their calling, these events will not take place. God has revealed these things to the intercessors, because he does not want them to happen.

The thirst for revelation that emerges during a crisis cannot be quenched by the revelations received by intercessors.

Where there is no revelation, the people are left naked (Prov 29:18).

Unfortunately, scraps from tables of the intercessors will not satisfy this hunger for revelation.

The problem is lack of revelation. We should be praying that God will release a clear prophetic voice that we may have better understanding of God’s purposes. If God is giving warnings about events that are going to happen, the prophets should be listening and seeking guidance about his plans for his people and asking what changes must take place to avert the disaster.

In conclusion, in both callings of intercession and prophetic its powered by the Holy Spirit because without the Holy Spirit revelation all of these ministries are retarded and cannot function and therefore we must always pay attention to the Voice of the Holy Spirit for directions and how he intends to do with God’s messages if we rush or work on our we shall have fall into the hands of the devil and mess up God’s work. The intercessors are not necessarily Prophets alone, Intercession ministry can also come from the callings of other Ministries like Apostleship depending on God, therefore Intercession is one of the biggest in the Kingdom of God and it has a lot of work to do than any other ministry. God needs more intercessors so that he would reveal his different works he wants to accomplish through the intercessors and the prophets. Therefore intercessors can be called alone into the ministry and also Prophets can be called into the Ministry independently. But at times intercessors can be prophets, Apostles, and also otherwise. But the Prophets suffer more than other ministries since they are to proclaim God’s word of truth to the people or the nation or world. God would take long in preparing the Prophets and intercessors through suffering in the wilderness.
